Freaky Stuff: logging to rotated files

This is very weird and I am lost:
It seems to me that cronolog seems to be logging to rotated files instead of
the new ones.

As you can see from the dates, the log for 25th is modified on 29th. Any
idea why this is going on?

This is all ofcourse on the dreaded Solaris platform 2.7 with latest
patches. So I am nost sure WTF is going on. What can I do to find the cause
of this? Anything? Any idea what could be causing this? I don't understand
why it would be writing to rotated logs but indeed many logs for 29th are in
com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_25. What did I do to deserve this?

I am running Apache 1.3.20 with mod_ssl,mod_php4 (4.0.6), and mod_gzip.
Could mod_gzip be conflicting? well, any ideas are welcome. If you've ever
experienced this, I would really appreciate feedback.

Thanks
Victor
