[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: CRONOLOG: Freaky Stuff: logging to rotated files
Ok, the problem seems to be that a thread of apache is screwed up at some point and doesn't restart for some reason. If I run a restart on the server, there is some thread that doesn't die and I have to use a kill -9 (kill itself doesn't kill it). I don't understand why something like this would happen but this thread continues to log to old rotated files. Any ideas? This seems to be some apache issue on Solaris OS though. > This is very weird and I am lost: > It seems to me that cronolog seems to be logging to rotated files instead of > the new ones. > > -rw-r--r-- root root 6254530 Oct 1 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_01 > -rw-r--r-- root root 4898663 Oct 2 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_02 > -rw-r--r-- root root 5597565 Oct 3 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_03 > -rw-r--r-- root root 6960737 Oct 4 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_04 > -rw-r--r-- root root 4988319 Oct 5 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_05 > -rw-r--r-- root root 1997555 Oct 6 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_06 > -rw-r--r-- root root 2593899 Oct 7 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_07 > -rw-r--r-- root root 6483620 Oct 8 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_08 > -rw-r--r-- root root 5328598 Oct 9 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_09 > -rw-r--r-- root root 7138240 Oct 10 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_10 > -rw-r--r-- root root 3882346 Oct 17 11:06 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_11 > -rw-r--r-- root root 2978836 Oct 12 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_12 > -rw-r--r-- root root 1484712 Oct 13 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_13 > -rw-r--r-- root root 2217408 Oct 14 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_14 > -rw-r--r-- root root 6094217 Oct 15 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_15 > -rw-r--r-- root root 4393521 Oct 16 23:58 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_16 > -rw-r--r-- root root 6691546 Oct 21 20:56 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_17 > -rw-r--r-- root root 4295984 Oct 18 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_18 > -rw-r--r-- root root 3240089 Oct 19 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_19 > -rw-r--r-- root root 2105538 Oct 20 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_20 > -rw-r--r-- root root 3071573 Oct 22 10:46 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_21 > -rw-r--r-- root root 9146992 Oct 25 14:24 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_22 > -rw-r--r-- root root 6141644 Oct 23 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_23 > -rw-r--r-- root root 7340651 Oct 24 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_24 > -rw-r--r-- root root 11061241 Oct 29 10:26 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_25 > -rw-r--r-- root root 4775587 Oct 26 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_26 > -rw-r--r-- root root 2709228 Oct 27 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_27 > -rw-r--r-- root root 3149105 Oct 28 23:59 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_28 > -rw-r--r-- root root 992569 Oct 29 10:26 > com.site.www_access_log_2001_10_29 > -rw-r--r-- root root 35773 Oct 29 10:26 com.site.www_errors_log > > As you can see from the dates, the log for 25th is modified on 29th.
