this list is no longer moderated (administrivia)

Having gone through and approved all the non-spam messages waiting
approval and having read up on the Majordomo mailing list software I
have decided to change the configuration so that the list is no longer
moderated.  However posting is restricted to subscribers only.

Hopefully this will avoid the list being polluted with spam and speed
up the propogation of messages, making the list more useful.  Note
that our mail gateway employs greylisting, which temporarily delays
initial incoming posts from new senders to limit the amount of spam
received by open relays and other compromised systems (see
www.greylisting.org for information about greylisting if you are
interested).  This means that if you post to the list your first post
may take two to three hours to be reposted -- once our mail system has
recognized your sending address, subsequent postings should not be
delayed.

If anyone does subscribe and send spam I will remove them from the
list as soon as I notice.
